As part of this endeavor, the Treatment, Research and Expert Education (TREE) program has contributed to HIV medical research and has developed HIV treatment, prevention and management capacity through training, clinical mentorship, and webcast distance learning lectures.
The purpose of TREE is to develop and share academic medical expertise that will improve the quality and management of HIV care in Kenya.
TREE has an outstanding opportunity for a Study Nurse, a Data Clerk and a Community Health Worker.
Study Nurse
- Dispense medications and performing pill counts
- Perform informed consent procedures
- Perform patient interviews and fill case reporting forms
Qualifications
- A diploma in Nursing
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience treating HIV/AIDS and interest in research are added advantages
Data Clerk
Specific Duties
- Data entry using Cardiff Tele-Form
- Doing data cleaning using SPSS syntax and line-listings
- Maintaining a data log book of data entry queries and inconsistencies
- Assembling of patients folders by filing the required questionnaires
- Data backup
- Assist in filing of the patient’s files
Qualifications
- Degree in Mathematics or Statistics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated experience in data entry, verification and resolution of inconsistencies, especially with automated systems like Cardiff Tele-Form or Formic software.
- Proficiency in SPSS: writing syntax, interpreting outputs, and descriptive analyses
- Previous experience working in a research setting is added advantage
Community Health Worker
Specific Duties
- Organizing and carrying of patient charts
- Escorting patients between multiple procedure rooms
- Scheduling appointments and performing reminder calls
Qualifications
- Organization skills and ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with HIV/AIDS and interest in research are added advantages
