Programmes Officer Jobs at Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA)
The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA), the umbrella body of professional societies in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a suitable person for the position of Programmes Officer at its secretariat.
This position is responsible for Programmes Development and Implementation at the APSEA secretariat and the Professional Centre and reports to the Executive Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities-
- To support the Executive Officer identify and prioritize Programmes listed in the APSEA’s strategic plan in order to generate income for the association.
- To design, develop and manage projects and programs from inception to completion.
- Ensure activities are carried out according to the work plans and budgets with the guidance of the Executive Officer.
- Ensure the projects have clear and specific indicators to ensure the project achieves it’s goal.
- Develop and implement effective monitoring and evaluation tools with the guidance of Executive Officer
- To recommend improvements and enhancements to existing services and Programmes undertaken by APSEA
- To develop and implement a suitable media and communication strategy for purposes of building a high and positive profile for APSEA.
- To form liaisons and networks with all stakeholders that may impact positively on the success of the APSEA,
- To represent and attend meetings, seminars, workshops and other events where the organization is expected or where such events have been organized by APSEA, whether held within or outside the country,
- To carry out any other duties as may be directed by the Executive Officer or any other officer of the Council of APSEA.
Requirements
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- University degree in Humanities and Social Sciences or related field, masters degree will be an added advantage
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in program and project management;
- Experience in organizing and managing workshops and events
- Fluency in English, including excellent Report Writing skills;
- Work experience in transitional societies and knowledge of political and socio economic developments in Kenya would be an asset;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Ability to operate MS Windows applications as well as web-publishing, database maintenance and blogs will be an added advantage
- Excellent networking skills and build networks with stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and without supervision
