Training Content Developer at Kimetrica
About Kimetrica: Formed by a group of former humanitarian and development workers in 2006, Kimetrica is a social enterprise focused on providing policy-makers and project managers with the tools and skills they need to do their jobs well.
Our work centers on providing knowledge management solutions for governments, bi-lateral donors, the World Bank, and not-for-profit organizations in the areas of performance management and disaster risk reduction.
With a headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and project support offices in Ethiopia, Moldova, and the US, Kimetrica employs 60 full-time professional staff and an extensive network of sector specialists with expertise ranging from early warning and contingency planning to social protection and research and data analysis.
We are seeking to recruit one Training Content Developer who will focus on development of course content for use in instructor-led and eLearning.
Additional responsibilities will include graphic design and development of audio and video content for use in training courses.
Reporting to: Training Team Leader
This position is responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Work with subject matter experts to create and maintain training curriculum for Kimetrica’s various product offerings
- Write, design, edit, and maintain accurate documentation and training materials
- Provide appropriate quality assurance testing and assist with integration of eLearning content on ki-learning
- Communicate with team members throughout the course development process by utilizing storyboards and project management tools
- Effectively collect, incorporate, and track feedback during the content creation from training subject matter experts
- Support in amending and revising content and curriculum
- Provide periodic reports to management relating to projects in development and delivery timelines
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree from a recognized university
- 1+ year(s) experience in content writing and development
- Additional certifications in web design /Graphics & Multimedia/E learning Content Development/Instructional Design/ Technical writing will be an added advantage
- Extensive work experience in Project Design, Monitoring and Evaluation and/or Disaster Risk Management is preferred
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Sense of ownership and responsibility for work
- Self-motivated, proactive and can work as a team player
- Creativity, enthusiasm, drive
Terms and Conditions
- Nairobi based
- Two month probation period with conversion to long‐term contract conditional on performance and project funding
