Transport Officer, Relief Purchaser at International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

The ICRC Logistic Centre in Nairobi (Industrial Area) is seeking an experienced & highly motivated individual to fill the position of Transport Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire fleet according to guidelines and supervisor’s instructions;
- Ensure efficient and economic use of vehicle according to standards and rules set;
- Plans holidays and allocate duties for drivers;
- Monitor and update vehicle use and fuel consumption;
- Keep track on all vehicles’ movement;
- Organize and plan the fleet maintenance;
- Carry our driving tests and briefing for new staff both national and expatriate.
- Organize the loading plan for trucks;
Minimum Requirements:
- Holder of a relevant Degree from a recognized university;
- At least 3-5 years experience in fleet management ;
- Certificate of good conduct;
- Valid driving license(preferably all categories);
- Knowledge of customs clearing and forwarding would be an added advantage;
- Computer Literate;

Responsibilities:
- Processes Relief purchase orders ;
- Responsible for tender process;
- Participates in the selection of suppliers;
- Updates supplier’s database and manages contracts with suppliers;
- Ensure strict control of quality for the purchased goods/services;
- Conduct market survey to keep abreast of market developments and source new suppliers;
- Provides analytical reports on purchases;
- Assists the Supply chain administrator to determine the running stock levels;
Minimum Requirements:
- Holder of a relevant Degree from a recognized university;
- At least 5 years experience in a similar field ;
- Certificate of good conduct;
- Good command of written and spoken English(knowledge of French is an asset);
- Computer Literate;
