Job Role

• Overall responsible for the technical aspects of the projects, including the technical specifications and liaising with suppliers to arrive at sound technical solutions
• In conjunction with other engineers, develop technical specifications capturing the requirements for the project in question
• Develop RFP documents to source for technical solutions and quotations
• Evaluation of RFP responses from suppliers to rate technical compliance to the RFP requirements
• Develop project plans and checklists for the delivery of the projects
• Respond to technical queries from suppliers (in conjunction with other engineers as and when required)
• Responsible for the testing of the solution to confirm compliance of the solution with the technical specification
• Handling escalations from the field in relation to a new product that is under field or lab testing
• Develop and maintain a list of technical issues (buglist) that require closure for the supplier
• Review any technical documentation / user guides that may accompany the product under development

• Bachelor’s Degree IT, Engineering, Telecoms or related field
• At least 3 years experience in a Service Provider or large enterprise environment
• Knowledge of Video broadcast systems including satellite systems and STBs
• Knowledge of IP Networks and telecommunication networks
• The candidate must demonstrate ability to pay attention to detail, analytical mindset and problem solving skills
• Good communication, reporting and presentation skills
• Experience in handling telecommunication based projects with tight delivery timescales
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
