Health Rights Advocacy Forum (HERAF) is a non-governmental organization that brings together Health Professionals, NGOs, FBOs and PLWHA organizations to empower Kenyans to realize the right to health for all. It was established in 2006 and registered as a non-governmental organization in Kenya by the NGO coordination board in 2007.
HERAF is currently implementing interventions to provide knowledge and information on health as a fundamental human right; advocating for reforms in health and HIV&AIDS policies; rooting for sustainable health financing; carrying out budget tracking and analysis, promoting community participation in health sector management and governance and strengthening the institutional capacity of partners in various counties to implement HIV/AIDs related projects

Job Summary
To supervise the Project Team and oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of the grants and project management including planning, organizing, implementation of activities, dealing with affiliates, and reporting
Duties and Responsibilities
The job holder’s duties and responsibilities will include:
1) Providing leadership and coordinate all the stages of the programmatic grant (Programme development, planning, implementation , monitoring and evaluation)
2) Providing technical assistance to the affiliates and partners
3) Coaching and mentorship for project staff at HERAF
4) Identifying and promoting strategic partnerships at HERAF with other organizations, agencies, and/or individuals
5) In liaison with the finance office, ensure well monitored budget control of all activities with accurate costing and manages the project’s expenditure against the agreed budget.
6) In consultation with the Finance office, draw project budgets for the planned activities.
7) Ensuring timely and accurate accounting of all the funds advanced for the Project’s activities
8) Overseeing the preparation of monthly and quarterly project reports in consultation with the project team.
9) Developing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with affiliates.
10) Providing technical support for the development of structured opportunities of institutional learning including project monitoring and evaluation, highlighting success stories, lessons learnt, documentation and use of good practices.
11) Resource mobilization
12) Quality assurance and learning
13) Prepare regular project reports.
Any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Level of Education and Experience
The job holder must possess:
1) A Master’s degree in Social Sciences or MPH or related field
2) Over seven (7) years of work experience in an NGO with a specific focus in the HIV sector in the recent 5 years
3) Experience in HIV/AIDS Care and treatment, HIV/AIDS prevention, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and health system strengthening projects management
Other Competencies
Computer Literacy
Should be a team leader with good communication skills
Should have good organizational and interpersonal skills
Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
Effective communication, writing and presentation skills
Past and demonstrated experience working in the NGO sector .
Strong skills in monitoring and evaluation and reporting.
Knowledge in Community Health Systems Strengthening (CHSS).
Strong analytical, communication, dynamic thinking skills and result oriented.
Must demonstrate outstanding leadership and strategic management abilities.
Must have good negotiation skills
Entrepreneurial and the ability to innovate
