Due to the recent expansions Techno Brain seeks to recruit a GIS Developer.This is an entry-level position which includes on-the-job training and experience.
The position will report to GIS Delivery Head.
Job Summary:
To design and develop enterprise-scale GIS applications in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
To support and maintain developed applications in line with predefined service levels.Main Responsibilities
- To undertake development work on new and existing GIS applications.
- To assist with formal analysis of user requirements with regard to new and existing systems, and to provide appropriate design documentation.
- To ensure that developed software is robust, performing and meets the user`s functional requirements.
- To assist in the formulation and implementation of standards for analysis, design, programming, testing and documentation, and to ensure adherence to these standards.
- Stay current with latest developments in GIS field.
- Recommend new technologies and techniques for application development.
- Ensure that application architecture meets business requirements.
- Design, code and integrate application with database management systems.
- Plan and execute GIS project within allotted timelines and budget.
- Develop test scripts and perform unit and integration testing
- Develop system problem reports and recommendations.
- Propose development initiatives to increase programming efficiency.
- Assist in developing project proposal, budget and schedule.
- Work effectively in a team to develop high quality GIS solutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Degree in related technical discipline or a combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
- Experience of relational database management systems.
- A good working knowledge of geographic information management and spatial data Standards.
- Knowledge of web server administration along with database modeling, design, unit testing and administration.
- Computer skills: .NET development experience using VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET RDBMS experience
- (MS SQL Server preferred) Oracle, MS Access JavaScript, AJAX, Silverlight ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS
- Server, and ESRI API’s.
- Practical experience with ESRI ArcGIS Server, and ESRI API’s for Silverlight, Flex, JavaScript & Android.
