Purpose: We require an all-rounded Production Operator.

Key Strategic Deliverables
- Provide process integrity and maintain process quality for all furnace process operations
- Following established environmental, health and safety standards and procedures while performing daily duties. Is constantly aware of, and looks for, ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
- Furnace lighting and temperature control of the equipment during the production process
- Maintain operating records and logs
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew
- Function as a viable member of the furnace team
- Operate the furnace as directed during the melting process
- Interpret and control the furnace conditions as they relate to the product being produced
- Set up furnace hardware including hearth, molds, shields and feeders
- Conduct preventive and general maintenance on furnace hardware including hearth, molds, shields and feeders, gate valves, burners, funs and, recovery systems and other support systems
Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Personal Competencies
Job Requires
- Furnace operation skills
- Sleeper reconditioning skills
- Railway safety and accident investigations.
- Computer literacy.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- O level certificate.
- Craft certificate in boiler/furnace operation an added advantage.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- At least two years’ experience in furnace operation
- At least two years’ experience in sleeper reconditioning processes
