ICT Systems Administrator at Adept Systems
Summary: Our client is one of the leading grower and exporter of roses to export markets.
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a System Administrator who will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, performance, security and availability of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure within the organization.

- Coordinates IT functions in designated areas / systems; upgrades system by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software
- Drafts systems specifications and reviews with customer – End user; conducts feasibility study and implements the system
- Conducts IT end-user training and post implementation procedures as well as training end users with simple network troubleshooting techniques.
- Carries out day-to-day systems operations and maintenance procedures
- Anticipate/identify/receive and record customer needs/requirements
- Conduct feasibility study as per work instructions
- Implement and test the system as per work instructions; train and Commission the system as per work instructions
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
- Coordinates IT corrective maintenance in assigned systems
- Resolves problems escalated by Helpdesk and makes recommendations for outsourced services
- Investigates recurring and related operating system failures/inefficiencies by reviewing system logs, and other information; review problem analysis reports
- Design and update company website; update Social Media in the company’s web site
- User accounts management, manage the email web server as well as internet service
- Determines and initiates appropriate and immediate actions needed to restore normal services with minimal down time.
- Support server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Education, skills and competencies
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, should have CCNA certification
- At least 3 years experience in an ICT Generalist role
- Possess good analytical skills
- Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, policies and procedures
- Experience in end user support / help desk; design and regular updates; software applications management
- Strong Networks and Telecommunications skills
- High sense of confidentiality; active listening skills, time management
- Deductive and inductive reasoning.
- Good organisation and administrative skills.
- Flexible and high level of tolerance.
- Possess cultural and political awareness and sensitivity.
- Demonstrate sound work ethics
