Clinical Officer, Nurse Counselors, HTC Counsellor Supervisor, Social Worker, HTC Facilitator at International Medical Corps (IMC)

International Medical Corps (IMC) an international non- profit NGO seeks to recruit applicants for the following positions for continuing Centers for Disease Control (CDC) funded project in Nyanza, Kenya. 
The goal of the project is to prevent new HIV infections through implementation and scale up of combination of evidence informed cost effective prevention (Behavioral, Biomedical and Structural) interventions targeting Key Populations, general population and youths. 
This program will be implemented in collaboration and partnership with the Ministry of Health – Government of Kenya’s (GoK) County, Sub-County, and facility level staff and other CDC implementing partners in Homabay, Migori and Kisii Counties.
Clinical Officer
1 Position
The Clinical Officer will assist the Tekeleza team in the provision of evidence based interventions, HTC and treatment and care referrals and follow-ups to persons and families of those infected by HIV/AIDS.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide antiretroviral therapy and general medical care to HIV/AIDS infected patients.
  • Coordinate and participate in evidence informed interventions targeting youth, MARPS and the general population.
  • Coordinate with other HIV/ART care by implementing partners in the area and IMC staff. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all activities to preserve dignity of patients; ensure accurate and secure documentation of activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Registered Clinical Officer and 4-5 Years’ experience in HIV Program Implementation.
  • Clinical experience especially in dealing with PLWAHs, and a demonstrated desire to see effective care and support delivered to those suffering from HIV/AIDS.
  • Basic HIV/AIDS Counseling skills and experience.
  • Adult and Pediatric minimum and Comprehensive Care Package service delivery training an added advantage.
  • Experience working with KPs is an added advantage.
Social Worker 
1 Position

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish client support and referral mechanisms to care facilities.
  • Facilitate capacity building of evidence based interventions programs for community health.
  • Supervision of peer educators and community support group.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all activities to preserve dignity of all clients.
Minimum Requirements
  • University Degree in Social Work with 3 years’ experience or Diploma in Social Work with at least 3 years’ experience in HIV programs in rural settings.
  • Excellent supervision, team work and communication skills.
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS/STI community health programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in HIV interventions and counseling skills.
  • Willingness to relocate to Homabay and Migori counties
Nurse Counselors

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide counselling and psychosocial support to clients at the TEKELEZA drop in centres
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Health and other partners in provision of HIV care and treatment to clients at the drop in centres.
  • Coordinate and participate in evidence informed interventions targeting youth, MARPS and the general population.
  • Participate in community mobilization and education regarding HIV/AIDS, prevention and therapy.
Minimum Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with 4-5 years’ experience in busy HIV care and treatment settings.
  • Basic HIV counselling Training and experience.
  • Current nursing council practicing licence.
  • Willingness to work in Homabay, Migori and Kisii counties
  • Experience working with MARPs is an added advantage
HTC Facilitator

Roles and Responsibility
  • Mobilize and screen the eligible target groups, parents and youth in schools, churches and other community settings for program uptake.
  • Conduct CHP to the fisher folk maintaining fidelity to the core components.
  • Perform quality client counseling and testing
  • Duly prepare and develop weekly and monthly performance reports
  • Refer clients appropriately for further management and do follow up to ensure completion of referrals.
Minimum Requirements
  • A qualified HTC facilitator in HC, SS and FMP
  • Basic counselling training and experience in HTC certified by NASCOP
  • Mobilization skills and ability to form PWP groups
  • Experience working with Key Population is an added advantage
  • Willingness to relocate to Homabay and Migori county
HTC Counsellor Supervisor
