The Role: The successful jobholder will be required to:
- Import, clean, transform, validate or model data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making purposes through Continuous Audit and Continuous Controls Monitoring, Exception reporting, Business Intelligence, Spend Analytics, Wastage Analytics, Dashboarding using Interactive Data Exploration & Analysis (IDEA) software, Caseware Monitor, Excel, SQL, Qlik.
- Analyze data analysis requests obtained from management to determine operational problems define data modeling requirements, gathering and validating information, applying judgment and statistical tests and developing data structures to support the generation of business insights and strategy.
- Providing analytical thought leadership and analyzing large pools of data to discover trends, patterns, or correlations that will solve business problems and create opportunities of maximizing profitability and ensuring high quality business analytics
- Building presentations to summarize and present key messages to senior management and business partners (including business implications) and determining how to best summarize and visualize the results.
- Developing and implementing robust processes of monitoring and measuring data quality, specifically in relation to data accuracy, consistency and completeness and ensure governance of the scorecards, loss and impairment models and monitoring the performance of the models
- Ensuring a detailed end-to-end document of the reporting process flow is maintained i.e. data extraction process, data manipulation, checks and controls for KRMs
- Ensure standards on Retention, Security, Confidentiality & Recovery of risk data conform to Group policies and Maintain data infrastructure and develop scripts for regular processes.
- Ensure innovative and interactive utilization of appropriate analytical and risk management concepts to ensure an independent and objective assurance on effectiveness of the internal control environment
- Identify opportunities to use data to develop new strategies and improve business performance and utilize knowledge of mathematical modeling and other optimization methods to perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Perform diagnostic reviews on the revenue assurance processes by identifying and eliminating potential revenue leakage areas by way of providing an end to end reconciliation of the billing process
- Utilise techniques for independent checks on the accuracy and completeness of data for revenue assurance adequacy.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills, attributes and competencies:
- A Bachelors degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related quantitative analytical field.
- 5 year work experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis; data modeling; developing reports; Teradata or similar relational database tool; SQL, SAS, or Unix programming to formulate mathematical or simulation models.
- In- depth knowledge of banking industry technology and data landscape and challenges with experience in leading transformative data and analytics reporting projects especially with cross-country/regional responsibility
- Strong data analysis skills with a structured, fact-based approach to problem solving
- Very strong project management and execution skills with demonstrated ability to plan and deliver projects with multiple stake-holders
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a perceptive team player who can manage multiple senior stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial, willing to challenge the status quo and push the envelope on what may be possible
- Resilient in the face of setbacks
