Forklift Operator at Sameer Agriculture and Livestock (K) Limited
Sameer Agriculture and Livestock (K) Limited is a leading Dairy Companies in the region re-know for its world class Daima brands products among others.
We urgently wish to recruit dynamic and result driven Forklift operator for our warehouse operations.
Nature of Job: In this job you’ll need good physical coordination. You’ll also need to be able to follow written instructions and keep records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include ,
- Positioning forks, lifting platform or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
- Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets skids or lifting device.
- Recharges forklift batteries, as required.
- Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
- Perform variety of routine tasks to assist in production activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, company policies and procedures especially on safety.
- Loading and offloading goods from vehicles such as trucks and trailers
- Load and offload goods delivered, and move them to and from storage areas
- Moving goods packed in crates and pallets around the storage facility
- Stacking goods in the correct storage areas, following stock control instructions
- Checking loads are secure
- Performing daily equipment checks, for example recharging the forklift’s battery, fueling and maintenance
- Helping to load and unload trucks by hand where necessary
- General housekeeping and maintenance of equipment.
Other requirements for the job
- Clean and valid Driving License (stamped forklift)
- 3 years driving experience in Class C & E
- Previous experience in forklift operation and basic motor vehicle Mechanics would be an added advantage
- Experience in operating Forklifts from 3 ton to 11 ton for more than 3 years
- Possession of Government Occupational Trade Test will be of an added advantage
- Certificate of good conduct
- Operators license from ministry of labor will be of an added advantage.
- 3 years driving experience in Class C & E
- Good command of English and Kiswahili language
- Minimum age of 25 years
- Ability to trouble shoot common forklift problems
- Certified/knowledge of driving a forklift and aware of Forklift safety standards
- Knowledge of spare parts
- Reference from previous employers
- Must be willing to work in shifts and occasionally long hours.
