We seek to recruit an experienced, competent and self-motivated individual with excellent leadership skills, who will form the core team that will deliver on our strategic intent to fill the following position:
Job Summary: The Certified Public Secretary will primarily be responsible for ensuring that the company’s clients comply with standard financial and legal practice and maintain standards of corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on the legal, governance, accounting and tax implications of new legislation.
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and advice clients accordingly.
- Develop and oversee the systems that ensure companies comply with all applicable codes, in addition to legal and statutory requirements.
- Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks
- Analyze the probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases
- Draft shareholders’ agreements
- Undertake company formations and give advice on business structures
- Undertake/participate in legal due diligence exercises
- Prepare legal briefs and opinions
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a Certified Public Secretary – CPS(K)
- Membership to ICPSK will be an added advantage
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Law
- A minimum of five (5) year experience as a Company Secretary from reputable corporate entity or professional services firm
- Commercial experience in law
- Must possess a license to practice law
