University Locum Nurse at KCA University (KCAU)
KCA University (KCAU) is a dynamic private business university committed to quality service and ethical practices. KCAU seeks to recruit a highly motivated and innovative candidate to fill the following position;
Job Objective: To provide and manage healthcare services for both staff and students of KCAU
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To ensure successful operation of the KCA University Clinic;
- To ensure delivery of clinical services to both full time, part time and weekend students;
- To develop and ensure the implementation of health strategies and budgets for KCAU;
- To contribute towards development and oversee the implementation of healthcare policies and procedures for both staff and students;
- To manage the healthcare services for KCAU and ensure that the department is able to meet its operating costs (at least break even)
- To ensure effective reporting on healthcare activities to KCAU management;
- To carry an ongoing case load of individual clients and maintain their confidential case records and accurate statistics;
- Initiate and provide group work and training for students and staff on support related issues;
- Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with colleagues and staff;
- Contribute to the strategic development of the counseling provision by assessing and referring counseling cases to the University Counselor;
- Maintain and develop professional expertise;
- Encourage clients to talk about issues they feel they cannot normally share with others;
- Challenge any inconsistencies in what clients say or do;
- To help clients make decisions and choices regarding possible ways forward after carefully listening to the clients.
- Refer clients to other sources of help, as appropriate.
- To liaise, as necessary, with other agencies and individuals to help make changes based on the issues raised by clients.
- To undertake group as well as individual therapy on occasions.
Academic & Professional Qualification
- Diploma in Nursing (Minimum).
- MUST be a registered and practicing nurse with The Nursing Council of Kenya with additional qualifications in counseling from a recognized examination body.
Experience
- 3 to 4 years’ experience
