Trusound Entertainment (TSE) is a Professional Event Management and Multimedia Entertainment Outfit based in Kisumu.
It’s currently one of the leading indoor and outdoor events co-coordinating company in Western & Nyanza regions and offers services including: Corporate Events Management, Public Address and Sound systems, Events and Conferences, Professional Still Photography, Video Shooting, Video Editing and Production, Documentary Production and Voice-overs and Fully-Assembled Mobile Disco for individual or corporate among others.
We are looking to hire a Video Editor to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and creative Electronic Media Production department.
Job Summary: Responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcasting.
The material may consist of camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects; work on a variety of productions including feature films, documentaries, television programmes, music videos, corporate training videos or commercials.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least a Diploma in social sciences or ICT with two years of editing experience.
- Graphics and After Effects competence with a good sense of timing and detail
- A blend of creative and practical skills with excellent communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and willingness to work long hours when need be.
- Good knowledge of Final Cut and Adobe editing software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discuss video project plans with the subject specialist, producer or director to determine the appropriate video editing.
- Use computer-controlled video editing systems to prepare videotape/DVD for presentation.
- Receive a brief, and maybe an outline of footage and/or a shot list, script, or screenplay.
- Assemble all raw footage, with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting into the computer.
- Input uncut rushes and sound, and synchronize and store them into files on the computer.
- Digitally cut the files to put together the sequence of the film and decide what is usable.
- Create a ‘rough cut’ (or assembly edit) of the programme/film and determine the exact cutting for the next and final stages.
- Reorder and tweak the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video.
