Workshop Manager at RTS Global Partners
- The ideal candidate’s knowledge and mechanical experience must cover all European type trucks, like Mercedez, Man, Scania, etc.
- Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles, detailed management of preventive maintenance procedures such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tyre rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters alongside other more complicated checks.
- Attend to sub contracted vehicles, prepare of end of day reports.
- Co-ordinate with drivers; manage all mechanics and allocate duties then follow up with them on assignments and time taken.
- Attend to vehicle breakdown while en-route and any incidences whenever required.
- Monitor incoming drivers and trucks, proactively understand truck defects and get parts ready in advance.
- Perform driving tests on vetted drivers.
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, replacing parts and components, repairing body damage.
- Verify vehicle conditions by conducting test drives after repairs, adjusting controls and systems.
- Maintain vehicle records by recording service & repairs and ensuring all vehicle check lists upto date.
- Contain costs by using warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
- Manage effective and efficient stores inventory through proper stores management of spare purchases and issues.
- Keep supplies/spares ready by tracking inventory, placing orders and verifying receipt
Desired Education Background, Experience, Competencies and Skills;
- A relevant University Degree or College Diploma in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive experience in working with, management and repairs of European type trucks.
- Ability to priorities and schedule maintenance and proactively plan for the same.
- Good problem identification and problem solving skills, critical thinking and analysis of problems.
- Good organization and people management skills.
- Ability to train, manage and coordinate a large workforce.
