Opportunity Kenya Ltd is a microfinance institution with operations in Nairobi, Western, Nyanza and Rift Valley regions of Kenya.
In line with the growing business needs, we are seeking highly competent, focused and results oriented applicants to fill Loan Officer Positions to be based in our operational areas.
Experienced Loan Officer
Reporting to the Branch Manager; the Loan Officer is the front-line employee with key contact with potential and existing Opportunity Kenya clients.
The overall purpose of this position is to grow the business by recruiting and retaining customers while maximizing returns through cross selling and high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively market and generate business through client recruitment, training, deposit mobilization and disbursement.
- Undertake regular calls and visits to customers to ensure effective relationship management.
- Maintain up to date records of all customer visits for all customer segments.
- Cross sell all Opportunity Kenya products and services to both existing and potential clients.
- Actively take part in business growth initiatives including marketing activities, new business sign ups, new partnerships etc.
- Prepare credit appraisals and present to the Branch Credit Committee meetings.
- Address all customer queries within the stipulated turnaround time
- Monitor the portfolio quality on daily basis and proactively institute remedial actions.
- Maintain sound relationships with clients, partners, and the general public.
Role Requirements:
- Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Microfinance/Marketing/Sales/Business Administration
- At least 2 years experience in Sales with exposure to micro lending (a must)
- Experience in the Banking sector with a bias in microfinance highly desirable
- Knowledge in marketing and credit management for both individual & group clients
- Good communication and interpersonal Skills
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
- Team player/thinker
- Able to communicate fluently in both English and Kiswahili and explain complicated concepts to clients.
