Driver / Motorcycle Rider at Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC)
The Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) is a membership-based organization registered in Kenya with country offices in Uganda and Tanzania.
Our members are key stakeholders and players in the grain value chain including cereal growers, millers and processors drawn from within and outside the East Africa States.
Our core mandate is to develop and promote orderly structured marketing systems and provide market information for grains so as to reduce transaction costs and eliminate barriers’ to regional trade
Reporting to the Human Resources & Administration Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:
- Driving vehicle/motorcycle for all official duties while ensuring timeliness and safety.
- Delivery and pick up of mail and official documents.
- Postage and collection of mail to and from post office.
- Ensuring the vehicle/motorcycle assigned is well services and maintained as required.
- Keeping up to date and accurate records in the vehicle/motorcycle.
- Reporting any accidents/incidents involving vehicle/motorcycle in a timely manner.
- Ensuring maintenance of the vehicle/motorcycle cleanliness.
- Ensuring that the vehicle/motorcycle licenses are valid and properly displayed.
- Carrying at all times, a valid driver’s license and for the class of vehicle being driven.
- Ensuring that any journey(s) undertaken by the vehicle/motorcycle are logged, authorized and official.
- Keeping track of fuel consumption and vehicle/motorbike services.
- Completing and updating the log book of the vehicle/motorcycle on a daily basis for proper recording of mileage.
- Ensuring safe keeping of vehicle/motorcycle accessories.
- Providing a monthly vehicle/motorcycle usage report.
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Clean and Valid driver’s license class BCEFG.
- 3 years driving/riding experience.
- Possess a valid certificate of good conduct.
- Possess a first aid certificate.
- Solid experience in defensive driving.
- Well trained in traffic safety and highway codes.
- Well conversant with Nairobi streets and its environs.
- Ability to communicate fluently, written and spoken, both English and Swahili.
- Good interpersonal skills, flexible and a team player.
- Honest, high integrity, confidentiality and ability to work under minimal supervision.
