Junior IT Security Officer at Credit Bank Limited
Credit Bank is an established commercial bank and is rapidly growing its branches so as to grow the network.
To support our growth strategy, we are looking for a dynamic and proactive Kenyan professional with strong credentials and relevant work experience to fill the position below to be stationed at our Head Office.
The purpose of this role is to provide continuous independent assurance on the bank’s information security as regards confidentiality, integrity and availability of the IT infrastructure, processing systems and related resources in line with the policy and procedures of the bank.
Main Duties
- Monitor various security tools and security logs and respond to security alerts generated by those tools or noted within the security logs.
- Respond to alerts raised by various security and network monitoring tools.
- Promptly assess inputs from a number of sources and to resolve or escalate security incidents as deemed necessary.
- Assist in periodic security tasks such as vulnerability scanning and secure configuration management.
- Monitor security and network systems for anomalous behavior.
- Develop trend reports and baselines.
- Raise alerts based on deviations from baselines.
- Evaluate new security tools.
- Keep abreast of latest hacker tools and techniques and develop mitigation strategies against them
- Monitor controls for operating system, T24 application, data base management system interfaces and the network.
- Promote information security awareness within the organization
- Proactively anticipate potential threats and vulnerabilities and recommend effective responses and control measures.
- Review all relevant system logs to identify and address activity that is not consistent with set out information security guidelines and standards.
Minimum qualification and experience required:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science /Information Technology
- Minimum 2 years working experience in a busy IT environment.
- Experience of working in the IT function within a banking environment will be an advantage.
- Certified Information Systems Auditor certification.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of database applications
