Naivasha Water, Sewerage and Sanitation Company (NAIVAWASS) is a water service provider based in Naivasha town that has been mandated by Rift Valley Water Service Board and the County Government of Nakuru to provide water and sanitation services to the residents of Naivasha and
its environs.

As part of this support, VEI and SNV are in the process of supporting NAIVAWASS to recruit for the following vacant position:
Laboratory Technologist
Reports to: Technical Manager
NAIVAWASS Salary Scale: NWC 7
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Arrange for sampling of water and sewage.
- Make regular tests on raw water, treated water and sewage effluent
- Make regular tests on end-line water samples i.e. at consumer point
- Ensure laboratory equipment at all sites are kept well in order
- Prepare specifications for reagents and water treatment chemicals
- Recommend amount of chemicals to be used and ensures the right amount are used
- Compile results and submitting reports to management and relevant authorities
- Maintain accurate and complete records
- Facilitate in-house training of water operators
- KCSE”-Level education or above
- Diploma in analytical chemistry, laboratory technology.
- 3 years in water or waste water analysis or in equivalent position
- Computer skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Honest, integrity and reliability
- Certificate of Good Conduct

Enforcement Officer
Reports to: Commercial Manager (with dotted line to the Managing Director)
Duties and responsibilities:
- Patrol NAIVAWASS property and surrounding areas as assigned by vehicle, bicycle, or on foot to deter, locate, and apprehend persons committing crimes or unlawful activities concerning Water.
- Provide mutual aid and assistance to other law enforcement agencies as requested and/or circumstances dictate.
- Conduct inspections of Naivawass Installation to ensure the assets are secure; collects and maintains evidence; writes incident reports; responds and testifies in court as may be required.
- Assess the need for use of force and other force options including physical control holds, and verbal commands.
- Provide related support services as needed, such as connection and re-connection of water and sewerage services, call-outs of maintenance and administrative personnel for incidents occurring during evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Coordinate security services provision, from service providers for the company installations.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, reports, and files; provides documentation to appropriate as required by law.
- May serve as lead worker for other classified staff within the department.
- KCSE C+ and above
- Reasonable Training in Law Enforcement
- Mature person not less than 30 years
- At least 5 years experience in security operations, administration of justice, or human relations.
- A letter of discharge from the forces
- Work independently and make critical decisions with minimal supervision;
- Enforce and apply all laws, rules and regulations;
- Read, understand and interpret standard official legal documents;
- Exercise judgment and discretion in analyzing and resolving problems;
- Read, correct and prepare clear and concise reports; follow and understand written and oral instructions;
- Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population;
- Speak in public and make presentations representing the department,
- Maintain cooperative working relationships.
