Driver at AIC Kijabe Hospital

Purpose of the Position: Reporting to the Transport Coordinator, the purpose of this position is to provide efficient transport facilitation to the patients and the staff in order to attain the objectives of the organization.
Hospital Driver

The main responsibilities of the hospital driver is facilitating transport of patients and staff using the assigned hospital vehicle(s), ensuring cleanliness vehicles, carrying out periodic checks and submitting the required reports on vehicles.

The role also involves occasionally running errands on behalf of the hospital administration.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a born again Christian
  • Must be a mature, respectful and honest person of high integrity that is able to work in a team and make meaningful contributions to the team objective.
  • Must have sound eye sight and medically fit.
  • Minimum of Secondary School Education (O level).
  • Posses a clean and valid driving license of classes B, C, and E. Possession of a First Aid Certificate from St. John or AAR will be an added advantage. 
  • Basic motor vehicle mechanics certificate. Possession of Grade Test Certificate in Motor Mechanics and / or Road Safety certification will be an added advantage.
  • Have a current Certificate of Good Conduct not more than 6 months old.
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a formal set up. Prior work experience with Hospitals as a driver will be a definite added advantage.
  • Basic computer skills, especially in word processing and spreadsheets will be an added advantage.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills. Must be fluent in both English and Swahili.
