Assistant Head of Human Resources
Job Purpose: Dealing with employee relations matters in liaison with the Head of Human Resources.
Job Responsibilities
The applicant should be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the following areas:
- Employee training and development
- Management and compilation of employee records
- Compilation and coordination of payroll data inputs, payroll taxes and statutory deductions.
- Management of employee benefits including pension scheme.
- Management of work permits in compliance with immigration laws.
- Development and implementation of HR polices.
- Strategic planning in Human Resources
- Management of employee grievance and discharge procedures.
- Performance management and evaluation.

Research Analyst
Job Purpose: In charge of data collection, management and analysis, drafting reports and managing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Programs questionnaires in Survey Monkey and other software.
- Coordinates field surveys and data collection
- Performs programming and data analysis tasks using statistical software
- Performs data mining from the data warehouse.
- Prepares summary report for institutional data that supports institutional decision making
- Assists with drafting and editing of project reports and methodological reports as assigned.
- Prepares time lines for assigned projects.
- Assists with budget preparation and budget revisions for assigned projects.
- Submits brief, written report on project progress each week to supervisor and reports on project progress, needs, and plans.
- Coordinates with Head of Institutional Research regarding scheduling or resource problems affecting timely completion of assigned projects and any issues affecting survey quality.
Educational / Professional Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Statistics or in a related field that involves research design, implementation and analysis from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in institutional data analysis in an educational environment
- Knowledge of SPSS, STATA (Knowledge of any other statistical package is an added advantage).
- Excellent data extraction skills from a variety of databases
- Demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to extract and compile data Enterprise Resource Planning Software such as CARS
- Demonstrated competency in Excel, SPSS, STATA or any other statistical software.
- Understanding of database management procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
- Experience in programming and data analysis (qualitative and quantitative).
- Understanding of statistical techniques for the social sciences.
- Ability to pay attention to details, prioritize projects and set and meet deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of personal information and data in accordance with the university’s policy.
