Job Purpose: The Communication and Advocacy Specialist will lead the project communication and advocacy strategy including dissemination to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Facilitates strong and effective communication about the project, its purpose, its activities and results
- Maintains contact with stakeholders and keeps them informed of project progress and results
- Designs effective advocacy and communication strategies as well as appropriate products for use in patient/client education and advocacy activities
- Develops communications and advocacy work plans and budget including the development of a calendar of events
- Collaborates with the Clinical Services Specialist to assist in sharing relevant technical information, and creating communication and dissemination materials for presentations and reports
- Collaborates with the Monitoring and Evaluation team in order to effectively report data for decision making, best practice sharing, and required progress reports
- Custodian of the program’s branding strategy
- Advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Public Relations
- Masters of Public Health (added advantage)
- Registration with Public Relations/Marketing Society
- 4 years’ experience
- At least 1 years’ experience post-Masters (added advantage)
- Excellent speaking, writing and editing skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrable skills in developing presentations
- Experience working with graphic designers, printers and other communication service providers in developing communication material
- Outstanding interpersonal relations
- Familiarity with project communication and management, partnership and advocacy in health

Job Purpose: The Strategic Information Specialist will be responsible for leading the overall M&E strategy for the project, guiding the implementation of an electronic medical records system, and analyzing data and generating reports for quality improvement activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops and implements a capacity-building and systems-strengthening plan for M&E in close collaboration with key partners
- Develops and supervises the project M&E plan, including timely reporting of project activities
- Provides technical advice and general guidance on the SI IT architecture and framework and contributes to SI IT strategies and plans
- Plans, coordinates and manages major projects based on SI services and business processes
- Examines site-level and national-level M&E systems and leads the development of strategies to improve M&E process and data use for decision making and reporting
- Oversees routine data management including data collection, cleaning, validation and compilation
- Analyzes and presents data (in collaboration with the Communication and Advocacy Specialist) to inform project decision-making and improvement
- Develops and revises M&E processes and related tools that support quality assurance and quality improvement for key project areas
- Leads the implementation of training and continuous professional development systems for site-level M&E/data staff, such as on data collection, analysis and interpretation
- Implements and supervises a data quality assessment system with strategic action plans improving data quality
- Conducts targeted site visits to provide mentorship and carry out periodic evaluations on all issues related to Strategic Information
- Develops and manages mobile reporting technologies as relevant for the project
- Represents the organization in a SI technical capacity at various meetings
- Writes SI activity reports
- Bachelor degree in Biostatistics/Health statistics
- Masters degree (added advantage)
- SPSS/STATA
- 4 years’ experience, 1 year at supervisory level
- Experience on a PEPFAR/CDC grant (added advantage)
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills (including report-writing)
- Excellent data base management skills (SQL, Access, Excel)
- Exceptional analytical skills (Stata or SPSS)
- Advanced computer skills and experience working with HMIS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Report writing skills
