Accounts Analyst at Industrial Promotion Services (IPS)

We invest in projects within East Africa across a wide range of sectors, including: Food and Agro Processing, Printing and Packaging, Textiles, Leather processing, Pharmaceuticals, Power and Telecommunications.
We are looking for an Accounts Analyst who will be responsible for carrying out analysis on the financial performance of project companies which will involve reviewing management accounts and analyzing financial and operational effectiveness and future projections.

Individuals with four years experience, problem solving skills and demonstrable experience in planning and organizing their work, prioritizing tasks and working with set deadlines and schedules will be most suited for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing and interpreting financial data to determine financial performance.
- Interpreting financial transactions and events to support business decision making.
- Preparing financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis.
- Preparing and submitting high quality weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
- Reviewing and analyzing flash reports, management accounts and trends and issues arising from the project companies’ monthly accounts.
- Reviewing and timely submission of quarterly reports to our parent organization.
- Providing technical support to the project companies in the preparation of annual budget and reviewing/ analyzing their annual budgets to ensure these are accurately done.
- Monitoring new projects expenditure against project budgets and plans and querying project companies on significant variances.
- Providing financial support to the companies assigned in cases where there are gaps.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in Commerce or Business Administration from a recognized university.
- Professional qualification in accounting CPA (K) or ACCA
- Four (4) years experience preferably in a similar capacity with good IT skills especially in Excel.
- Reporting skills
