Truck & Trailer Mechanic in Mombasa – O’dumont Consulting
- Making repairs to fleet vehicles, including (but not limited to) repairing engines, alignments, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, fuel, air brakes, steering, and hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems;
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck trailer systems including structural, brakes and electrical systems.
- Diagnosing failures of vehicles and disassembling, repairing and reassembling parts as necessary
- Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other vital parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
- Inspecting, repairing and maintaining refrigeration systems
- Conducting a daily walk-around inspection of fleet to ensure that trucks are in good general working order
- Making a weekly fleet inspection to check oil and fluid levels and record service mileage
- Scheduling maintenance service and ordering parts
- Filling out and submitting all required documents in an accurate and timely manner
- Responding to road emergencies to repair vehicles as necessary
- Performing maintenance and repairs on production facility equipment as needed
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering
- Technical school certification
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with medium to heavy duty trucks and/ or Hauliers
- Experience maintaining international vehicles, a plus
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Professional Appearance
- Good driving record
- Insurable to drive our company vehicles
