Summary Background
The Sales representative is an independent contractor and will have the primary responsibility for all sales activities of farming inputs in assigned territory or community.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Significant knowledge in agricultural and livestock products and their appropriate applications. You will need to show demonstrable knowledge of this.
- Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques. Three to five years of sales or marketing experience.
- Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public (Customer Base).
- Ability to establish, plan and organize work with minimal supervision and strong ability to implement and complete work.
- Ability to consistently achieve sales targets.
- Teamwork: Ability to participate effectively in teamwork, within the context of a learning organization.
- Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients.
- Preferred knowledge and membership from the communities of Maili Sita, Maili Saba, Kabatini, Bahati and surroundings is highly preferred.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional travel to the HQ (Nairobi/Nakuru).
- Preferred computer literate, KCSE certificated holder.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Fluency in oral and written Swahili and oral English.
Working Conditions
Work requires significant local travel and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
