Corporate Communications Officer II at National Environment Management Authority (NEMA)
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is established under the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA) No. 8 of 1999, as the Principal Instrument of Government in the implementation of all policies relating to the environment.
The Authority invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the following vacant position;
Corporate Communications Officer II
Grade E8
1 Post
An officer at this level will be responsible to the Principal Corporate Communications Officer for implementation of communication programs to enhance the Authority’s corporate image.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties will include:
- Preparing press releases,
- Preparing supplements and press kits on NEMA programs and activities;
- Sourcing and compiling materials for internal and external NEMA publications;
- Managing the suggestion box by preparing weekly summaries of the queries raised and recommending relevant action;
- Drafting appropriate responses to issues raised through the media, Internet or verbal complaints;
- Drafting responses to routine mail directed to the communications office.
- Professional photography and video coverage of NEMA’s internal and external functions
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have;
- A Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related field from a recognized institution
- Three years relevant experience in a busy organization.
- Well developed CT skills
- Demonstrated professional competence in mass communications/writing.
Terms of Service
The successful candidate will be appointed on a two (2) years renewable contract.
