Organizational Context and Scope
The CBMM programme aims at assisting the Somali authorities in enhancing immigration and border management in order to promote safe and orderly migration and security control.
In order to effectively respond to the periodical calls for proposal and timely submission of donor reports, the Unit seeks an intern to assist in development of new projects and keep good track of submission of the proposals and donor reports.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Research and communicate donor priorities and funding opportunities in the CBMM and CT and propose the development of new projects that correspond to the identified needs.
- Assist the project officers and manager to design and develop new projects covering CBMM and CT in close coordination with Project Development and Implementation Unit, Resource Management Officer (RMO), field offices, donors, and partner institutions.
- Ensure organisational procedure of concept note / proposal submission by regularly updating the tracking tools that enables the Unit to monitor development, endorsement and final submission of concept notes and project proposals as well as project code issuance.
- In co-ordination with Programme Assistant – Communication & Reporting and Programme Manager, develop and regularly updates the tracking tools that enables the Unit to follow donor reports development, endorsement and final submission in a timely manner.
- Assist the Unit in donor compliance of the given project by initiating the project opening meeting and disseminating the donor agreements.
- In co-ordination with Programme Assistant – Communication & Reporting, contribute to monitoring of the programmes and assist Programme Manager in communication with and outreach to the various donors, technical level inter-agency and relevant co-ordination meetings;
- Ensure dissemination of key points of discussion from the donor meetings with the management of the IOM office and within the Unit.
- Act as the Knowledge Management focal point for the Unit, ensuring archiving of electronic copies of the key documents.

- University degree in International Relations, International Law or Social Science.
- Advanced University degree in the subject related to migration management, immigration and border management or counter-trafficking is considered as an asset.
- Good command of computers: Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Outlook) and Internet.
- English Fluent (written and spoken)
- Somali Advantageous
