Kabarak University invites applications from interested and suitable qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions in the University.

Senior Internal Auditor

Grade 8

1 Position
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
  • Hold Masters Degree in Commerce (Accounting option) and CPA (K) or equivalent.
  • Should have at least (10) ten years of relevant work experience in a large organization or in a busy Audit firm as an Audit Assistant
  • Should posses good and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be an individual of high integrity, conversant with financial systems and accounting packages.
Job Profile
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Vice Chancellor and will be responsible for the following key areas:
  • Ensure there are proper control mechanisms in the university.
  • Review audit policy, guidelines and manuals
  • Ensure that University processes and practices conform to the University vision, mission and objectives and regulations as well as complying with national laws of the country.
  • Ensure conformity with the University’s acceptable standards, plans, budget and schedules by preparing specific audit assignments, plans and programmes for the University.
  • Ensure compliance with laid down financial procedures and regulations
  • Carry out value for money audit
  • Undertake prepayment audit for all disbursement transactions
  • Auditing the payroll verifying the accuracy of staff emoluments and deductions there from.
  • Performing audit tests on the internal controls in accounting, administrative and operational procedures.
  • Any other duties assigned by University authorities
Senior Audit Assistant
Grade KABU 5
1 Position
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
  • Hold Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Management or equivalent and CPA part II or equivalent.
  • Should have at least (3) three years of relevant work experience in a large organization or in a busy Audit firm as an Audit Assistant
  • Should possess good and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be an individual of high integrity, conversant with financial systems and accounting packages.
Job Profile
The successful candidate will be reporting to Senior Internal Auditor and will be responsible for the

  • Performing audit tests on the internal controls in accounting, administrative and operational procedures.
  • Any other duties assigned by University authorities.

Students’ Counsellor
Grade KABU 7
1 Position
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
  • Hold a masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from a recognized University
  • Should have at least (5) five years of relevant work experience in student counseling
  • Must have a high degree of integrity in administration of student affairs at University level
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Dean of Students and will be expected to prepare, develop a comprehensive counseling plan that includes identifying students with social psychological or health related problems, providing guidance and counseling on career development and liaising with health unit on student’s health and providing counseling on personal and social matters within the hostels.
