Risk & Compliance Executive
Reporting To: Risk & Compliance Manager, Audit, Risk & Compliance Department.
Duty Station: Head Office Nairobi.
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
- Keep abreast with all legal/regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures by identifying, updating and communicating to the relevant department while monitoring compliance.
- Perform risk assessment evaluation and recording of enterprise risk and subsequent ranking of each risk.
- Provide advice in the design and improvement of risk mitigation strategies.
- Conducting regular train in g of staff and other relevant stakeholders on the risk issues pertinent to achieving Company objectives.
- Continual research and keeping abreast of evolving risks affecting the industry and the business.
- Design tools for enterprise risk management.
- Assist in compiling an discussing reports, detailing findings implications and recommendations for system and con trolls improvements.
- Undertaking financial , operational, compliance, ad hoc and investigative audits.
- Assist in preparation of high quality and timely internal audit reports and follow-up on implementation of both internal and external auditor recommendations.
- Participate in developing and implementing Annual Risk based audit plan aligned to the company objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent.
- CPA (K) or ACCA (UK) or a finalist in either of these qualifications.
- 2 years’ experience in operations or Business Development operations.
- CISA Qualification
- Course/Training in Risk management will be an added advantage.
- 2 years relevant working experience.
Assistant Manager – Credit Control
Reporting To: Head of Finance; Finance Department.
Duty Station: Head Office Nairobi.
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that brokers/agents observe the statutory credit period, collect all premiums due.
- Scrutinize and dispatch monthly premium statements to all brokers, agents and direct clients, by the 10th day of the following month
- Handle correspondence from brokers, agents and insurance companies relating to premium collection.
- Liaise with underwriters on matters relating to premium collection and account reconciliations
- Process Commissions of intermediaries and ensure timely receipt of the same by the 2nd of each month
- Ensure agent accounts are reconciled every month as a control measure before statements are printed
- Prepare monthly reports relating to debt collection and liaise with the Company’s legal debt collectors where debt collection has been referred to them.
- Ensure IPFs presented are fully realized and the proceeds correctly allocated to the payer
- Ensure recovery of outstanding premium prior to claim processing by participating in the routine review of claims Produce a monthly report for discussion by the credit committee
- Deal with staff deployment issues within the section and ensure optimum utilization of human resource
- On a regular basis review both the computerized and manual systems to ensure they are efficient, identify areas that need to be computerized or enhanced to improve overall efficiency and remove duplication of roles and transactions.
Requirements
- A business related degree from a recognized university.
- 5 years relevant working experience.
- CPA(K) or equivalent.
Reporting To: Regional Manager / Mombasa.
Duty Station: Mombasa.
Overall Responsibilities
As the overall officer in charge of the Company’s branch office to ensure the office runs efficiently, implement underwriting guidelines/policies coordinate and supervise staff within his/her jurisdiction, drive the marketing sales and customer service functions in the respective branch.
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring strict adherence to the cash and carry policy.
- Ensuring that all company monies are receipted and banked as per company guidelines.
- Enforcing the set underwriting guidelines.
- Day to day administration of the branch operations.
- Implementing the branch sales strategies.
- Ensuring quality customer service at the branch.
- Ensuring renewal notices are sent out on time & preparing reports on business retention.
- Ensuring high customer retention rate.
- Signing of accountable documents and custodian of the same.
- Ensuring all business is booked in the system on a timely manner.
- Certificate management.
- Vetting of risks before they are accepted in the company books.
- Participate in building and enhancing good public image of the company through various public relation programmes.
- Ensuring that all claims issues reported to the branch are promptly communicated to the Claims Department and supporting documents submitted.
- Act as a link between Claims Department and the intermediaries / insured in all matters to do with claims.
- Ensuring that all intermediaries receive their commission earnings on a timely basis.
- Soliciting and negotiating special incentives to top performing intermediaries.
- Promoting a positive image of the company through service protocols to policyholders, brokers and other intermediaries, members of the public and other stakeholders. Such promotion may include public speaking, other forms of Public Relations etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Equivalent.
- 5 years’ experience in managing retail operations.
- ACII Papers.
Senior Claims Executive
Direct Report: Assistant Claims Manager.
Duty Station: Head Office Nairobi.
Overall Responsibilities: Processing of non-legal Claims.
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
- Opening and acknowledging new claims.
- Appointment of service providers within the set benchmarks, reviewing their reports, and processing of claims as necessary.
- Initiating recovery from negligent third parties and promptly handing file to Legal Section for follow ups.
- Payment to policyholders and service providers within stipulated company benchmarks.
- Maintenance of registers.
- Maintenance of adequate claims reserves.
- Respond to correspondence and/or queries relating to claims falling under area of responsibility
- Make recommendations on settlements of claims falling under area of responsibility.
- Preparation of claims reports e.g. monthly theft report, monthly salvage report and any other reports which may be required from time to time.
- Deputize the Assistant Claims Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Four years relevant experience.
- Pass in at least five ACII papers or equivalent.
