- Prepare procurement plans and tender documents.
- Preparation, publishing and issuing of procurement requests for quotations or tenders.
- Coordinate the opening, evaluation and recommendation of quotations to Tender/ Procurement Committee in line with procurement regulations.
- Liaise with the stores officer on stock levels in order to determine re-order levels for the next purchase.
- Assist in the preparation of contract documents, keeping records of the procurement and related committees and ensuring compliance with the procurement laws and regulations.
- Maintenance of proper procurement records in accordance with the laws, regulations, policies and procedures governing public procurement.
- Facilitate and oversee the implementation of the Procurement Committee’s decision.
Monitor the implement contracts.
- Receipt and follow-up of orders from suppliers and issuance of purchase orders to suppliers.
- Maintain Asset Register.
- Initial action on write off and disposal of stores.

Fixed Asset Accountant

1 Position
Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for recording the Institute’s newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing assets, recording depreciation and accounting for the disposal of fixed assets.
- Maintain the Institute’s Fixed Asset Register
- Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures and forms for the recording of fixed assets.
- Prepare, compute fixed asset balances for compilation of the Institute’s Final Accounts
- Recommend to management any update to
- Assign tag numbers to fixed assets
- Record fixed assets acquisitions and disposals in the accounting systems
- Track the compilation of Project costs into fixed assets and close out those accounts once related.
- Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
- Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets
- Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary level account in the general ledger
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.

- Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting/ Finance option ) or equivalent
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge in Accpacc Accounting System will be an added advantage.
Accountant III

1 Position
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Perform general accounting duties: collect revenue, process payments, monitor revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
- Provide safe keeping of invoices, receipts and other accounts records.
- Carry out regular stock takes and report accordingly.

Requirements for Appointment- At least three (3) years in the grade of Accounts Assistant I or in a comparable position.
- Part II of the Certified Public Accountant of Kenya or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting Option/Finance) or its equivalent.
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of Accpacc accounting system will be an added advantage.
Human Resources Management Officer II

Duties and Responsibilities- Lead in the implementation and review of the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).
- Assist in the recruitment and selection.
- Assist in Co-ordination of the performance management process.
- Assist in the implementation of the various Human Resource activities.
- Assist in planning and budgeting.

- Assist in salary and payroll administration.

- Plan, coordinate and implement all Information Communication Technology needs for the Institute.
- Formulation and implementation of ICT policies, strategies and programmes in the Institute.

Assistant Research Officer (Social Science)

Duties and Responsibilities- Participate in the Conceptualization, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating of R&D projects /programmes /activities.
- Collect and analyze Social and economic data using participatory tools and procedures such as focus group discussions, community meetings, social surveys, transect walks, historical trends, social mapping and wealth mapping.
- Integrate women and the youth in the research process by carrying out gender analysis and gender segregated mapping of research benefits;
- Contribute to the understanding of human factors such as poverty, wealth, food security, tenure, political affiliation, religion, education, gender, age, resource endowment and status in society which may influence the out -come and impact of research in communities and societies.
- Assess the role of indigenous technical knowledge in areas such as herbal medicinal plants conservation, management of religious (Kaya) and community forests in forest conservation
Requirements for Appointment- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology / Community Development (Second Class -Upper Division) or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
- Should have written at least two (2) reports/papers

Chemical Engineer

1 Position
Duties and Responsibilities- Carry out multi-disciplinary research in industrial and
allied technologies, research projects; - Design chemical plant and equipment configuration.
- Perform laboratory studies in the manufacture of new products and test proposed formulation processes in small scale operation
(pilot plant). - Carry out feasibility studies on production processes.
- Determine most effective arrangement of operations, such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, and drying
- Conduct research to develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.
- Design, install and commission new production plants, including monitoring developments and troubleshooting.
- Design measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations.
- Ensure there are safety issues related to the project
operator, the environment, the processes and the products at all stages. - Undertake extraction and processing of herbal and other
natural products.

Principal Supply Chain Officer
JG: RF 121 Position
Duties and Responsibilities- Head of Supply Chain Management Division.
- Formulate, implement and review supply chain management systems, policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise all supplies and procurement activities and staff.
- Co-ordinate the development and implementation of procurement plans and budgets, as well as administrative logistics services outlining key activities to be undertaken, resource requirements, performance measures and indicators as well as expected outcomes.
- Co-ordinate the Tender and Procurement Committees.
- Recommend and participate in the disposal of obsolete machinery, equipment, furniture, and other salvage goods in accordance with government and donor supplies and procedures.
- Write reports of irregularities, such as property damage, leaking pipes, theft, fire and presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences.
- Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery, schedules. Also obtain multiple quotations from reliable and competitive suppliers in line with prescribed regulations.
- Prepare purchase orders; obtain with signatures and forward procurement documents to Chief Accountant for cheque and payment processing. Also monitor and evaluate the delivery and quality of approved supplies.
- Monitor and evaluate Supply Chain Management activities.
- Compile quarterly and annual reports.
Requirements for Appointment- At least Eight (8) years, three (3) years in the grade of a Senior Supply Chain Officer or comparable position.
- Master’s Degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Attended a Strategic Leadership Development Course at a recognised Institution.
