South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited, a key player in the sugar industry in Kenya wishes to enhance its human capital base by filling the following senior management positions with talented and qualified Kenyan citizens:-
Networks and Infrastructure Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor performance and availability of hardware and software as it relates to servers, storage, network and communication systems
- Implement new technologies including system performance and monitoring tools, virtualization of hardware and software and data backup technologies
- Design, implement and maintain all LAN/WAN activities including vendor negotiations, hardware/software selection, resolving connectivity issues, and vendor escalation
- Updating departmental policies and procedures on network management

- Develop plans to recover operating capability in the event of emergencies
- Work collaboratively with senior management to identify and prioritize institutional needs
- Develop cost/benefit analysis, IT budgets, schedules and capacity plans
- Supervision and monitoring of network and infrastructure staff, prioritizing work infrastructure design, continuous quality improvement and staff development
- Analyze and identify infrastructure requirements and initiate improvements projects
- Forecast and plan future programme requirements including modernization and/or upgrade of existing facilities
- Oversee installation, configuration and maintenance of multiplatform systems hardware, software and components
- Ensure effective and efficient security systems that ensure network, systems and data security and recovery from internal and external security threats
- Oversee development, deployment and maintenance of performance monitoring and reporting systems that provide management and technical reports for decision making and operational support
- Undertake necessary tests and implement new installations and enhancements
- Maintain liaison with other functions to determine their future needs
- Facilitate automation of all offices including inter-office communication
- Establish a strong working relationship with external suppliers in order to enhance productivity and manage costs
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution
- A minimum of five years’ work experience in networking, telecommunications and providing direct supervision of technical staff
- Experience in management of data centers and server infrastructure
- Knowledge of mail systems such as Microsoft Exchange
- Relevant certifications such as CISCO network certification is desired
