Trade & Finance Officer

Reports To : Trade & Finance Manager

Main Job Task and Responsibilities
  • Ensure the Bank regional and local offices increase their Trade Finance market share
  • Preparation Letter of Credit (LC’s) & Bank guarantees, once extensive consideration/investigation of exposure has been completed
  • Monitoring the closure of LC’s and Bank guarantees to effectively manage the company credit line.
  • Prepare and present weekly LC forecast and capital reports to management.
  • Together with Treasury department, effectively manage that sufficient funds are available for projected payments.
  • Identify new opportunities in the market and work with individual countries to quantify and launch new products
Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Significant trade finance experience, specifically in the areas of Letters of Credit, Inco terms, trade documents (e.g. bills of lading, shipping guarantees, etc.), documentary collections, trade acceptance, discounting/forfeiting, purchase order inventory financing, trust receipts, etc.
  • Shared responsibility working with the Corporate Directors and Strategic Planning on product development, to mobilize a wide range of capabilities
Key Competencies
  • Preparation of Letter of Credit (LC’s) & Bank guarantees, once extensive consideration/investigation of exposure has been completed
  • Verifying payments and documents to ensure compliance to LC terms. This includes verification of complex pricing and delivery terms as per supplier contracts
  • Monitoring the closure of LC’s and Bank guarantees to effectively manage the company credit line.
  • Usage of banking tool application for Trade finance activities.
System Administrator

Department : ICT

Reports To : IT Technical Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • To take care of and maintain Information Technology systems coordinating the repair and maintenance of hardware systems, including investigating and resolving computer hardware and software problems reported by users to determine whether problem is caused by hardware such as modem, printer, cable, telephone line or software problem such as virus attack etc.
  • To monitor, diagnose and troubleshoot the Computer network backbone which includes network Switching systems and servers, organizational data and information, telephone communication systems and intelligent terminal equipment.
  • To establish relationships with business towards delivery of technical support and solutions
  • To co-ordinate with external vendors to ensure efficient implementation of outsourced technical solutions and projects.
  • To maintain a high availability of the IT infrastructure to support the related business, with focus on efficient problem resolution, operational routines and change execution.
Minimum Education/ Experience/Personal Specifications required
  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Oracle SQL, database and decision support programs.
  • At least 4 years in experience in system analysis, design, programming, installation and customization of computer hardware systems including integrated software programmes. Previous experience in a Bank will be added advantage.
  • Three years hands on experience in managing core networks including switching, routing and wide area networks.
  • Knowledge in bank infrastructure including ATM and Branch networks would be an added advantage.
