1. MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT: JOB GROUP 5- ONE POSITION
Job Ref: EPZA/HR/FIN/01/06/2013
The incumbent will ensure production of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts to enable management team to make sound decisions based on financial information.
Key Responsibility Areas
i.Preparing periodic financial statements, including income and expenditure accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries;
- Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions;
- Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget;
- Informing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies;
- Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions;
- Analyzing financial performance and so contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts;
- Offering professional judgment on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance;
- Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial Managers;
- liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context;
- Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed;
- Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls.
- Leading a team of staff responsible for the production of management accounts
- Producing weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports to senior management
- Analyzing variances and exploring potential problems with line Managers
- Making appropriate recommendations and advising of the impact on the business
xvi. Preparation of cash flow statements, income and expenditure accounts and tax returns
Minimum Requirements
i. First degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
ii. CPA (K) and must be a member of relevant accounting professional body
iii. Strong understanding of accounting policies and procedures
iv. Strong financial, accounting, analytic and reporting skills.
v. High degree of integrity and dependability
vi. Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
vii. Good understanding and application of accounting standards.
viii. 3 years high volume Accounting Experience in a similar organization
ix. Excellent Computer skills and Practical knowledge of Sage Pastel Partner or ERP accounting modules
2. ACCOUNTANT- RECEIVABLES: JOB GROUP 5 – ONE POSITION
Job Ref: EPZA/HR/FIN/02/06/2013
Key Responsibility Areas
i. Ensure timely billing/invoicing, statement issuance and collection of all revenue.
ii. Track and account for all deferred revenue.
iii. Analyze and collect all outstanding amounts
iv. Maintain timely general ledger entries and monthly reconciliation of assigned revenue accounts.
v. Perform weekly reconciliations for all billings and provide a monthly report
vi. Prepare and maintain a monthly receivables management report.
vii. Analyze sales data with respect to costs.
viii. Perform any other duties as may be directed from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
i. First degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or Business Administration, CPA (K) and 3 years’ experience from a reputable organization.
ii. Strong financial, accounting, analytic and reporting skills.
iii. Good understanding and application of accounting standards.
iv. Working experience in debt collection and management will be a distinct advantage.
v. Practical knowledge of Sage Pastel Partner or ERP accounting modules
3. ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT- RECEIVABLES: JOB GROUP 6- ONE POSITION
Job Ref: EPZA/HR/FIN/03/06/2013
Key Responsibility Areas
i. Ensure collection of all revenue is done as required.
ii. Liaise with billings section to resolve internal reconciliation on all billings.
iii. Assist in posting of all income receipts.
iv. Reconciliation of customer accounts.
v. Perform any other duties as may be directed from time to time
Minimum Requirements:
- First degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or Business Administration, CPA I Sec I & II and 3 years’ experience from a reputable organization.
- Strong financial, accounting, analytical and reporting skills.
- Good understanding and application of accounting standards.
- Working experience in debt collection and management will be a distinct advantage.
- Computer Training Ms Office, Practical knowledge of Sage Pastel Partner or ERP accounting modules
4. CASHIER: JOB GROUP 10 – ONE POSITION
Job Ref: EPZA/HR/FIN/04/06/2013
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the officer will be responsible for receipting monies making payments and keeping records of all monetary transactions in the Authority.
Key Responsibility Areas
i. Timely receipt of all EFTs and direct deposits.
ii. Making payments after approval.
iii. Accurate and efficient keeping of all monies registers and accurately maintaining all monies.
iv. Safe custody of all money received until subsequent release for banking.
v. Making petty cash payments and reimbursements within the agreed limits and guidelines.
vi. Preparing daily banking summaries and analysis by close of business day.
vii. Ensuring safe custody of revenue stamps in the cash office.
viii. Timely Cash refund payouts based after necessary approvals
ix. Undertaking filing within the cash office.
x. Any other role as may be assigned periodically.
Minimum Requirements
i. K.A.T.C Final or Higher Diploma in Business Administration.
ii. 3 years working experience in a busy cash office.
iii. Unquestionable character and integrity.
iv. Good understanding and application of the basic book keeping principles.
v. Practical knowledge of Sage Pastel Partner accounting modules
5. PAYMENT VOUCHERS EXAMINER: JOB GROUP 6 -ONE POSITION
Job Ref: EPZA/HR/FIN/05/06/2013
This position prepares and submits all assigned voucher types, and initiates payment actions through computerized systems for the daily processing of various vouchers.
Key Responsibility Areas
i. Monitors and tracks historical spending,
ii. reviews payments to avoid premature or late disbursements,
iii. Maintains records of payments and invoices
iv. Prepares monthly tax submissions, filing and other administrative duties.
Minimum Requirements
- First degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or Business Administration, CPA (K) and 3 years’ experience from a reputable organization.
- At least 2 years of vouchering or accounting
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend and apply detailed regulations and procedures pertaining to work.
- Ability to explain clearly the rationale of decisions made for payment or non-payment of voucher claims.
- Practical knowledge of Sage Pastel Partner or ERP accounting modules Selection Process:
