Scholarships cover the cost of fieldwork (10K for the duration of the scholarship), doctoral student stipend Research Council UK (London) rate (for 2012-13 was £ 15,590) and tuition fees UK / EU. Candidates pay a fee at the rate overseas will be required to cover the additional cost of fees abroad.
Criteria and requirements
Purpose This scholarship is available to work on a doctoral thesis to undertake full-time at SOAS.
Only new applicants may apply: those who are already enrolled in a research degree at SOAS are not eligible.
Academic – Applicants must normally possess or be required to have a master’s degree in the UK a good (or a qualification deemed equivalent by the School) in a relevant discipline. It will be an inter-sectorial project, and we are looking for students with a solid foundation in applied economics and skills or interests in nutrition and / or agriculture, which would be comfortable and learning and the use of powers between the different sectors in a multidisciplinary research group multi-sectoral.
In assessing candidates
Applicants will be assessed on academic merit by a selection committee composed of three academic members.
The assessment of your application will be based on information contained in your application scholarship. Selectors will consider the results of studies and also to academic credentials, financial statements and other relevant information.
Deadline Scholarship
The application form LCIRAH scholarship must be received as soon as possible, but no later than April 2, 2013.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered
Candidates must also have an application as soon as possible but no later than the deadline scholarship (April 2) in order to be considered for this scholarship. As the student is carried out by the Centre for Development, Environment and Policy (CEDEP), which is based in the Department of Financial Studies and Management, candidates must choose “DEA / PhD FINANCIAL AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES” as curriculum in their application. The application must be complete and references should be submitted.
Notifications results
Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail about the outcome of their grant application by the end of June. If you have not heard of us at the end of June, you should assume that your application was not successful scholarship.
