Our program is proven impactful – every year, we weigh thousands of harvests and measure more than 100% average gain in farm income per acre.  We are growing quickly. In six years, we have grown to serve 135,000 farm families with more than 1,000 full-time field staff.

Job Description

We are seeking a Finance & Accounting Analyst to play a key role in our organization, by developing our financial tracking and reconciliation processes in order to provide analysis and decision-making abilities to improve the financial sustainability of One Acre Fund Kenya.

The Finance & Accounting Analyst must be a quick learner that will be able to accurately track, analyze, reconcile, and report a wide range of information (revenue, repayment, expenses, and inventory). 

The Finance & Accounting Analyst must quickly learn and adjust to the various financial systems we have in place and create and maintain useful tools that will help maintain oversight and data-cleanliness across One Acre Fund Kenya.

Primary Duties of a Finance & Accounting Analyst

Reconciliation and Quality Check of Data Across all Districts: You will conduct an organization-wide revenues, refunds, and expenses reconciliation weekly.  You will ensure that cash balances in all Books accounts are correct, and legitimate, and they are signed-off monthly. You will be able to find, investigate, and solve discrepancies and suggest systematic improvements to reduce discrepancies. 
 
Thorough Knowledge of OAF Tracking Systems:  You will become an expert in understanding how we track assets, revenues and expenses.  You will be able to suggest improvements in the systems that will allow for improved reporting for OAF.

Create and Deliver Reports – You will be responsible for preparing and submitting timely and relevant internal financial analysis for district, province, and country operating units.  You should also be able to create reports for particular departments or specific expense lines.

Collaborate with Other Team Members – Finance is a collaborative team; you might be asked to work with District or HQ Bookkeepers and Treasurers whenever the need arises; you may be asked to do something beyond your normal duties and will be expected to do it with a positive attitude.

Be Independent and Accountable – One Acre Fund needs independent, high-performing staff in the finance team.  You must be motivated and able to submit high-quality deliverables to your manager with little oversight. You must be able to maintain timeliness and communicate proactively to your manager if any issues arise.

Qualifications
 

We are seeking exceptional professionals with minimum of two years of work experience, and a demonstrated long-term passion for sustainable agricultural development in sub-Saharan Africa.

  • Strong work experiences. Examples include a demanding professional work experience in financial institutions, or in finance departments of companies, or NGOs.
  • Leadership experience: Experience managing people and teams in or outside of work.
  • Proactively diagnose and solve problems
  • Strong comfort with numerical analysis
  • Strong computer skills: Ability to create reports and tools in Word and Excel; fast typing speed (20+ wpm); quick to learn and operate other software (i.e., Access)
  • Proven ability to set and meet targets on the job
  • Clear communicator/mentor
  • Top-performing undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or other relevant fields from a recognized University (please include grades and test scores on your resume)
  • Integrity and a Positive Attitude
  • Demonstrates high quality work with a strong attention to detail
  • A willingness to commit to living in Western Province or Nyanza for a long term position
  • Language: Fluent in Kiswahili and English Required.

Salary: will commiserate with education and experience
 

Range ksh 20,000 -30,000 with Performance Based Incentives
