The National Council for Law Reporting is a state corporation established by the National Council for Law Reporting Act, 1994. 
 
The statutory mandate of the Council is to publish the official Kenya Law Reports which are compilations of the decisions of the superior courts of Kenya, and the revision and updating the Laws of Kenya. 
 
The Council is a leading publisher of public legal information.

The Council is looking for highly organized and self-motivated professionals to serve in the following positions:

Job Title: Assistant Accounts Officer
JOB Grade: KLR 6
Reporting to: Account’s Officer
Department: Finance Department
Basic Salary not including allowances: Ksh. 47,272 (2,364) – 49,636 (2,487) – 52,123 (2,620) – 54,743 (2,763) – 57,506 (2,913) – 60,419 (3,073) – 63,492 p.m.

Key Tasks

Duties and responsibilities will entail:-
  •  Preparation of budgets, budgetary implementation and control;
  • Project financial appraisal and management;
  • Revenue and expenditure management;
  • Payroll management;
  • Financial reporting and analysis; verification of payment vouchers; and
  • Collation of financial estimates; and preparation of cash flow forecasts, aggregate expenditure and variance analysis.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this position, a candidate must:-
  • Have served for at least  two (2)  years in accounting related field;
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Commerce(Accounting/ Finance option) Business Management ,Administration  or relevant social science from a recognized institution;
  • Have Professional qualifications in accounting  such as CPA or ACCA or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Good Knowledge of government financial management, IASs and IFRSs;
  • Have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills;
  • Have Certificate in computer applications; and
  • Be fluent in written and spoken Swahili and English.
