Bridge International Academies is a for-profit startup company revolutionizing education across Africa with a unique business model. The company runs a large-scale network of low-cost primary schools in Kenya that significantly outperforms other primary schools in the same areas because of our “school in a box” systems. Our schools profitably deliver this high-quality education for less than $4 per child per month, which enable the schools to cover all their costs and create a profitable central organization at scale. We have launched 37 schools in Kenya, we will double in size in the next 6 months, and plan to rapidly scale the company to serve more than 1 million students across the continent.
About the Position
The Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the department, managers and other staff to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. This position requires an individual who possesses excellent organizational skills and the disposition to work well with other department members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office
- Organize and coordinate meetings, conferences, travel arrangements
- Communicate verbally and in writing to answer inquiries and provide information
- Liaison with internal and external contacts
- Maintains documents, office files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate the flow of information both internally and externally
- Maintain schedules and calendars
- Maintain office supply inventories
- Setup workstation and office orientation for new employees
- Other duties as assigned

- A diploma or higher in Business administration or social sciences.
- At least two years experience handling administrative duties
- Proficiency in Ms Office
- Fluency in both English and Swahili, written and spoken
- Ability to multi task
- Good judgment in trouble shooting, problem solving, awareness of own limitations, strong inter-personal skills and internal motivation essential
- Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
